CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Chartwells K12 is giving students even more reasons to get excited about lunchtime with Wrap & Roll, its newest limited-time cafeteria offering. Starting November 2, Wrap & Roll puts a fresh spin on handheld favorites with wraps, burritos, pinwheels, egg rolls, hand pies, and more, bringing together familiar foods, bold flavors, and globally inspired recipes students can grab and enjoy.
“Students are always looking for something new, but they also want the foods and flavors they already know and love,” said Amy Shaffer, CEO, Chartwells K12. “Wrap & Roll brings those two ideas together, giving our chefs a fun way to reimagine familiar favorites, introduce students to new flavors, and keep the cafeteria experience fresh and exciting.”
Chartwells K12’s generational research on Gen Z and Gen Alpha shows that today’s students want more than familiar favorites; they also value variety, chances to explore new foods, and dining experiences that let them have a voice. Wrap & Roll brings those insights to life as part of Chartwells K12’s year-round approach to menu innovation. Through limited-time offerings like Pizza Daze, Bloom Into Breakfast, and Foodie Fest, along with signature programs such as Global Eats, Nutrition: Game On, and Power Up, Chartwells K12 continues to create new ways for students to discover food and engage with their cafeteria experience.
With Wrap & Roll, that variety comes to life through foods that are wrapped, rolled, folded, and filled. From familiar classics to breakout hits, students can look forward to options like:
- Favorites, All Wrapped Up: Familiar flavors get a fun handheld makeover with new options like the Western Burger, a cafeteria classic recreated by the local Chartwells team at Wichita Falls ISD in Texas, making its national menu debut, and the Pizza Roll Up, a rolled take on a student favorite.
- Big, Bold Flavor: Unexpected combinations add even more excitement to lunchtime. The Spicy Chicken Pineapple Jalapeño Wrap pairs spicy chicken with sweet pineapple and jalapeño, while the newly created Philly Crunch Wrap combines Philly-style beef and cheese sauce with a crispy corn chip crunch.
- Taste of the World: Wrapped and rolled foods offer students a delicious way to explore cuisines from around the world. The Indian Chicken Shawarma Wrap features seasoned chicken in a whole-grain flatbread, while a broader lineup of globally inspired choices includes Potato and Cheese Pierogies, Three Sisters Enchiladas, and Chicken & Vegetable Dumplings.
- Roll Into the Morning: The fun starts before lunchtime with breakfast options students can grab and enjoy, including the Ultimate Hash Brown Breakfast Burrito, packed with egg, bacon, cheddar, tater tots, and pico de gallo, along with choices like the Egg, Cheese & Turkey Sausage Stuffed Breakfast Sandwich and Banana SunButter Breakfast Wrap.
“Some of the most exciting food ideas start with something students already recognize and then take it somewhere unexpected,” said Chef Peter Gilhooly, Senior Vice President – Culinary Services, Chartwells K12. “With Wrap & Roll, our chefs can play with flavor, texture, and inspiration from different cuisines, whether that means adding crunch to a Philly-style wrap, pairing spicy chicken with pineapple and jalapeño, or introducing students to a globally inspired dish. It’s approachable, fun food that gives students plenty to discover.”
Running through January 31, Wrap & Roll gives students plenty of opportunities to find a new favorite, explore flavors from around the world, and see what’s rolling onto the menu next.
