Valgotech has recently signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with 6K Energy

Our collaboration with 6K Energy provides an important pathway to domestically produced, non-FEOC NMC materials, while our hybrid battery architecture expands the performance options.”

INDIANAPOLIS, IN, UNITED STATES, August 24, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Valgotech LLC, a U.S. developer of advanced battery systems for defense and commercial applications, announced a new hybrid battery pack architecture designed to optimize the high energy-density advantages of lithium-metal and lithium-ion battery technologies.

Valgotech has recently signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with 6K Energy to support the potential supply of cathode materials produced in the United States, thereby strengthening Valgotech’s strategy to establish a secure, U.S.-aligned battery supply chain for defense and commercial markets.

Leveraging proprietary advanced microwave plasma technology invented in the United States, 6K Energy’s UniMelt® plasma process represents a step-change in how metal oxide cathode materials are produced by eliminating the need for conventional precursor cathode active materials (pCAM) and enabling direct synthesis instead. This approach also enhances supply chain resilience by decreasing reliance on raw materials originating from Foreign Entities of Concern (FEOCs).

The collaboration aims to support Valgotech’s development of advanced Li-S, Li-NMC, and hybrid battery systems for applications such as unmanned aerial systems, defense platforms, and other weight-sensitive energy-storage applications. “Developing advanced battery technology is only part of the equation. For defense customers, a secure, compliant supply chain is equally important,” said David Olawale, CEO of Valgotech. “Our collaboration with 6K Energy provides an important pathway to domestically produced, non-FEOC NMC materials, while our hybrid battery architecture expands the performance options available to drone and defense-system manufacturers.”

Valgotech is also participating in the inaugural Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Accelerator in Philadelphia on August 24-25, engaging with defense-industry stakeholders and exploring opportunities to accelerate the commercialization and adoption of its advanced battery technologies. The company’s strategy focuses on delivering Superior Safety, Performance, Affordable, and Scalable (SPAS) energy storage systems while building a resilient energy platform for next-generation defense and commercial applications.
