WICHITA, KS – August 05, 2026 – PRESSADVANTAGE –
Lubrication Engineers (LE), a manufacturer of specialized lubricants and lubrication reliability products, announced the continued availability of its complete line of gear oils engineered for enclosed industrial gearbox applications. The lineup spans extreme pressure (EP) and rust-and-oxidation (R&O) formulations, fully synthetic gear lubricants, food grade options and worm gear oils, giving maintenance and reliability teams a range of choices suited to specific operating conditions.
Enclosed gearboxes present a distinct lubrication challenge because gear teeth experience both rolling and sliding motion at the same time, while the same fluid must also protect the bearings housed within the gearbox. Industrial gearboxes are commonly expected to operate under high heat and heavy loads, often in environments contaminated by dirt, process debris and water. Without adequate lubrication, gears and bearings wear prematurely, leading to more frequent part replacement, shortened oil change intervals and unplanned equipment downtime.
“Selecting a gear oil is not a one-size-fits-all decision,” said John Sander, vice president of research and development at Lubrication Engineers. “The oil has to remain thermally stable so it does not oxidize and form sludge or varnish, it often needs extreme pressure protection for heavily loaded or shock-loaded applications, and it has to separate readily from water so contamination can be removed from the gearbox. Matching those attributes to the application is what determines how long a gearbox will run without failure.”
Lubrication Engineers’ extreme pressure gear oil line is built around Duolec®, the company’s proprietary dual-acting anti-wear and extreme pressure additive technology. Duolec is a liquid additive that is thermally activated, forming a protective layer that smooths metal surfaces and reduces friction under contact. Because it remains in liquid form, Duolec is not removed from the lubricant during filtration, a characteristic the company says distinguishes it from solid-additive alternatives.
Duolec Industrial Gear Oil, part of the EP lineup, is formulated for tenacious, metal-clinging performance in enclosed gearboxes and is designed to stay thermally stable, resist oxidation and sludge formation, separate readily from water, and maintain film strength and viscosity under heavy loads. Duolec Syn Gear Lubricant uses a 100 percent synthetic base fluid to extend performance across high- and low-temperature extremes, a formulation the company positions for heavy-duty applications such as pulverizer gear units that require long service life and resistance to deposit formation. Duolec PAG Gear Lubricant, a polyalkylene glycol formulation, is built for corrosion resistance, wear protection and thermal stability, and is frequently specified for worm gears and other equipment operating under extreme conditions.
For rust-and-oxidation applications, LE offers Multilec® Industrial Oil, a nonfoaming, turbine-quality lubricant used in air compressors, blowers, cranes, gearboxes, hydraulics and industrial turbines, along with Monolec Syn Industrial Oil, a synthetic formulation intended for gearboxes, compressors, vacuum pumps and hydraulic systems operating at extreme temperatures. Almasol Pure Mineral Gear Lubricant is offered for gearbox manufacturers that specify a straight mineral oil without chemically active EP additives.
The gear oil line also includes food grade options for processing environments where incidental food contact can occur. H1 Quinplex White Gear Lubricant and H1 Quinplex Syn FG Gear Oil are both NSF H1 registered, nonstaining and odorless, and are formulated with tackifiers to promote metal adhesion and water resistance in food and beverage manufacturing equipment. For worm gear applications, which typically operate under boundary lubrication conditions at high temperatures and heavy loads, LE offers Almasol Worm Gear Lubricant, formulated to protect bronze bull gears from excessive wear in enclosed worm gearboxes.
“Our technical services team works directly with customers who are experiencing gearbox failures or premature wear,” Sander said. “Using oil analysis, we can often identify the root cause and recommend adjustments to lubricant selection or maintenance practices that extend the life of the equipment.”
Lubrication Engineers has manufactured lubricants and reliability products for industrial, agricultural and commercial customers for more than seven decades and operates under an ISO 9001:2015 Certified Quality System. Gear oils and related reliability products, including oil analysis and lubricant identification services, are distributed through LE’s network of lubrication reliability consultants, who work with customers to match lubricant selection to specific gearbox applications and operating conditions.
