POWAY, CA, UNITED STATES, September 9, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Radeus Labs, Inc., a manufacturer of SATCOM and computing hardware for demanding applications, today announced the RL250 Polarization Controller. The 1RU rack-mount controller remotely selects circular polarization (CP) or linear polarization (LP) on compatible antenna feeds and returns reported switch-state feedback to the site control system.
A polarization change has traditionally meant a site visit. When a satellite move, service change, or mission requirement calls for a different polarization, a technician may need to travel to the antenna site and physically operate the feed’s polarization switch. For teleports, unattended gateway sites, deployed terminals, and remote ground stations, reliance on field access can add cost and delay. In some cases, it can also require antenna or feed-boom access in challenging weather conditions.
The RL250 addresses that operational gap. Integrated into a site’s antenna-control and monitoring environment over TCP/IP Ethernet, the controller independently drives two polarization-switch motors and selects CP or LP on each channel on command. CP and LP switch-indicator contacts provide feedback of the reported switch state to the control system.
Operators gain remotely commanded polarization control and positive state feedback in a compact 1RU controller. The RL250 supports compatible retrofit deployments without requiring replacement of existing feed hardware.

Positive switch-state feedback also supports disciplined operating procedures. Incorrect polarization can contribute to cross-polar interference and may place an operator out of alignment with applicable network, coordination, and operating requirements. By returning the reported switch state to the control system, the RL250 helps operators verify the intended polarization configuration before proceeding with transmission.

The RL250 is designed for teleports and gateway earth stations, unattended and lights-out ground stations, government and military SATCOM terminals, occasional-use and broadcast/SNG operations, and multi-mission TT&C, LEOP, and ground-station-as-a-service networks.
For teleport and gateway operators, the RL250 can reduce the operational burden of repointing between satellites with different polarization requirements. At remote and unattended sites, it provides positive feedback of the reported switch state when personnel may be hours away. For occasional-use, broadcast, and SNG operations, the controller can be incorporated into coordinated lineup procedures alongside antenna pointing and other pre-transmission checks.
Where an antenna-control and M&C workflow supports scheduled command sequences, RL250 polarization configuration can also be incorporated into broader per-pass procedures for multi-mission ground stations. System integrators and antenna OEMs can use the controller as a compact retrofit path for terminals built around compatible standard or latching polarization-switch motors.
