The service reflects a business-first approach Ferrer developed after learning an important lesson from his first attempt at building an AI company: technical capability alone does not create business value.

Ferrer began teaching himself artificial intelligence as a teenager and later founded Integrate Now, an early venture intended to help businesses adopt AI. Despite his technical knowledge and enthusiasm for the technology, the company failed to attract a client.

Ferrer is applying many of the same lessons to Oprators, an education and guidance platform for aspiring AI operators. The intentionally shortened spelling comes from “operators.” Ferrer describes an AI operator as someone who can identify valuable problems and use artificial intelligence to build useful solutions. Oprators focuses on skills such as selecting a niche, interviewing businesses, identifying costly problems, designing focused systems, communicating their value and finding clients.
